Saemaul Geumgo History Museum reaches 45,000 visitors
The Saemaul Geumgo History Museum in Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, has reached a milestone of 45,000 cumulative visitors. Since opening in November 2021, the three-story facility has functioned as a community hub for education and culture, offering free admission to the public.
The museum features three specialized exhibition halls: the first focuses on the origins of community credit unions through donated items and videos; the second details the growth of the institution following the enactment of the Saemaul Geumgo Act; and the third presents the future vision of financial cooperatives.
In addition to exhibitions, the museum provides age-specific financial literacy programs. Since 2022, the Children’s Financial Class has hosted 814 participants, while the Senior Financial Class has provided digital finance and voice phishing prevention training to 1,289 elderly visitors. The institution plans to continue expanding its role as a multi-generational cultural and educational space.
