Safari introduces new tab organization features in iOS 27

Apple has introduced new organizational features for the Safari web browser in iOS 27. A key addition is the ‘Topics’ feature, which automatically categorizes open tabs into relevant groups such as Technology, News, or Travel based on their content. Users can activate this by selecting the ‘Organize Tabs’ option within the Tab Switcher.

Other updates to Safari include enhanced tab management capabilities. Users can customize the Tab bar layout—choosing between Top, Bottom, or Compact views—and sort open tabs by title or website. Additionally, Safari now supports manual tab groups, allowing users to create and name specific collections of pages. Some of these new functionalities leverage Apple Intelligence, which requires specific hardware such as an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or M1-series iPads and later.
