Safe City traffic surveillance expands to Ohrid and Struga
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that the ‘Safe City’ traffic surveillance system will begin operations in Ohrid, Struga, Kichevo, and Debar starting Monday, October 12. Following technical checks and final testing, cameras will be activated on roads within the Ohrid Regional Police Station jurisdiction.
The system aims to provide enhanced and continuous traffic control, timely detection of violations, and improved road safety. Minister of Internal Affairs Panche Toshkovski noted that since the national implementation of the system on February 1, the number of people injured in traffic accidents has decreased by 20 percent compared to the same period last year, representing 34 fewer victims.
