SAFEEN Drydocks adds UAE’s largest floating dock in Abu Dhabi

SAFEEN Drydocks, a subsidiary of Noatum Maritime and a joint venture between AD Ports Group and Premier Marine Engineering Services LLC, has expanded its operations at Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi. The company has added a 230-metre floating dock, which is the largest in the United Arab Emirates, featuring a lifting capacity of 21,000 tonnes.

The new infrastructure is designed to accommodate ocean-going commercial vessels and rig repair projects, enhancing the company’s ship repair, maintenance, and refurbishment capabilities. This expansion is intended to provide greater scheduling flexibility and improve turnaround times for customers, while also supporting the maintenance of Noatum Maritime’s deep-sea fleet.

This development complements SAFEEN Drydocks’ existing 170,000m² of shipyard facilities at Khalifa Port and Zayed Port, as well as its recent acquisition of the Balenciaga Shipyard in Spain.
