Safety and maintenance initiatives launched at Cerro Chapelco and Isla Navarino

In Argentina, the Municipality of Chapelco has concluded its seasonal inspections at Cerro Chapelco. Officials, led by Secretary of Planning and Sustainable Development Diego Marcovesky, are preparing to establish a joint work plan with the site's concessionaire. This plan will focus on structural verification, approved blueprints, contingency planning, fire management, and safety and hygiene protocols to ensure future regulatory compliance.

In Chile, authorities are coordinating efforts to clear and maintain trails on Isla Navarino to improve emergency response capabilities during the summer season. Led by Provincial Presidential Delegate Rodolfo Moncada Salazar, various institutions including Senapred, Conaf, and the Navy are addressing obstructions such as fallen trees and beaver dams in the Róbalo and Ukika valleys. Discussions also include the potential use of small emergency vehicles and the possible recovery of the Charles refuge to support rescue operations.
