In the Arousa estuary, particularly near Vilanova and A Illa, there is growing concern regarding reckless jet ski maneuvers. Users and local authorities report that pilots are frequently ignoring safety warnings and prohibitions.

Reported dangerous behaviors include excessive speeds near the coast, invading designated swimming areas, navigating too close to other vessels, and racing between mussel rafts (bateas). Some jet skis are also reportedly operating with more occupants than permitted. These actions pose risks to swimmers, other boat crews, and the pilots themselves, despite government safety campaigns promoting responsible maritime coexistence.
