Safety concerns rise at schools in Progreso and Mar del Plata

In Progreso, a piece of concrete detached from the exterior of the Álvaro Obregón elementary school, prompting municipal authorities to cordon off the area with security fences. While no injuries were reported, the incident has heightened fears among parents regarding the structural integrity of the historic building, which has not undergone deep maintenance in over three years.

In Mar del Plata, residents of the Virgen de Luján neighborhood held a solidarity gathering to protest recurring thefts at local educational institutions. Criminals recently stole electrical cables from Primary School No. 72, leaving students without classes. The thefts have also impacted Secondary School No. 57 and Kindergarten No. 944, with reports of stolen gas lines, electricity, food, and kitchen utensils, disrupting regular school operations.
