Safety-focused mobile battery and fireproof pouch released to mitigate battery fire risks
New products are entering the market to address the safety risks associated with lithium-ion mobile batteries, particularly regarding overheating and fire hazards.
The MSMB10K mobile battery utilizes a structure designed to reduce the risks of heat generation, leakage, and fire spread. Testing in high-temperature environments, such as a car in summer, showed that the device maintained stable operation without excessive heating. The unit features a built-in Type-C cable, wireless charging capabilities, and an LCD display that shows real-time power output and remaining capacity.
To complement battery safety, a new fireproof gadget pouch has been developed to mitigate the spread of fire in the event of a battery malfunction. According to data from the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE), accidents involving mobile batteries tend to peak in August. The pouch is constructed from flame-retardant materials, including silicone-coated and aluminum-coated glass fiber that meet UL94 V-0 combustion standards. It is designed to hold multiple batteries and cables, providing a layer of protection to reduce damage to surrounding items.
