Safety Gate flags dangerous Halloween costumes and accessories
The Safety Gate early warning system has flagged several dangerous Halloween products due to significant health and safety risks.
A vampire costume, ‘Halloween Cape with Hood Child’, previously sold on Amazon, has been identified as a strangulation hazard. The product features long, functional cords around the neck area that do not comply with European safety standards EN 71-1 and EN 14682.
A Primark ‘Witch Halloween Set’ has been recalled due to the presence of hexavalent chromium, measured at 0.19 mg/kg. This chemical is highly toxic and carcinogenic, posing risks of allergic reactions and cancer.
Additionally, the JUMI black LED Halloween mask (model № H-871472) has been banned because its adhesives contain excessive levels of lead, reaching up to 42.8% of the weight.
