Safety investigations in Lavalle and market reopening in Torrevieja

In Argentina, investigations into the death of 18-year-old Morena González at the Picadas de Lavalle premises in Jocolí Viejo have raised questions regarding municipal oversight. Documentation suggests the site has operated with long-standing irregularities concerning its authorization and safety controls. Records indicate that the original 1996 commercial authorization for the motor racing circuit lacked essential structural plans, containment wall calculations, and safety evaluations regarding the distance between the track and spectators.

In Spain, the Torrevieja City Council has renewed the authorization for a permanent street market on Antonio Machado Street following a two-week closure. The market, which features international food stalls and various retail shops, was previously shut down due to serious safety deficiencies. The management of the site had been operating under a responsible declaration for nearly 3,000 square meters before the enforcement action by the Public Space Occupation area.
