Safety reports highlight workplace and transit accidents in Brazil
In Alagoas, Brazil, masons have been identified as the occupation with the highest number of workplace accident records. According to Ministry of Health data, there were 386 occurrences in 2024, surpassing accidents involving sugarcane workers, who recorded 255 cases.
In Minas Gerais, data from the Fire Department shows a significant number of bus and minibus accidents. Between January and August 2026, 102 accidents were recorded, resulting in 148 victims. This represents a 31.5% decrease in victims compared to the same period in 2025, which saw 216 victims. The most frequent types of incidents involve collisions with motorcycles, automobiles, and bicycles.
