Safety reports show workplace fatalities in Republika Srpska and traffic deaths in Serbia

Data from the Inspectorate of Republika Srpska reveals that eight workers have died and 78 have been seriously injured in workplace accidents during the first nine months of the year. Out of 1,200 inspections conducted between January and September, 460 identified irregularities. The most high-risk sectors identified include construction, electricity, forestry, and the wood industry. Authorities have issued 255 administrative measures and fines totaling 263,000 KM to address these violations.

In Serbia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 104 passenger vehicle drivers have died in traffic accidents since the beginning of the year. While this figure represents a decrease compared to the same period last year, pedestrian fatalities have seen a concerning 6% increase, with 83 pedestrians killed so far this year. Authorities are urging drivers to reduce speeds near crossings and advising pedestrians to use marked crossings and reflective clothing to increase visibility.
