Safran expands aerospace and defense production in US and Mexico

Safran is expanding its industrial footprint in the Americas to meet rising demand in the aerospace and defense sectors. In the United States, Safran Power Units has announced plans to double the capacity of its facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. This expansion, expected to be operational by 2028, focuses on the production and assembly of the TR40 turbojet engine family, which is used in missiles and drones, including the Naval Strike Missile.

In Mexico, Safran Aircraft Engines Services Americas (SAESA) has expanded its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services to four facilities covering 50,000 square meters. The site includes maintenance shops, a repair shop, and a test cell. The facility aims to reach a capacity of 350 engine inspections per year by 2030 and includes a training center designed to certify technicians from Mexico, India, and Morocco.
