High School Baseball Championship: Higashi Nihon International University Shohei advances

The 108th National High School Baseball Championship continues with significant performances from several teams. Higashi Nihon International University Shohei, making its first appearance at Koshien, secured its second victory by defeating Aomori Yamada 6-2. Ace pitcher Terunuma Yusuke pitched a complete game, allowing only two runs.

Other notable results include Kensai Takasaki defeating Tokai University Kofu 1-0, and Ariake winning 3-2 against Nagasaki Nichidai. Sendai Ikuei also advanced after a 1-0 victory over Hanasaki Tokuharu. In the junior division, Nagasone Strongs from Osaka claimed their ninth title at the 46th All Japan Junior Baseball Tournament, defeating Taga Boys Club 3-2.

Individual stories have also emerged, such as Kokubo Soya of Sendai Ikuei, a former ‘super elementary player’ who is now focusing on his speed and situational hitting rather than just power, and Terunuma Yusuke, who has gained social media attention for both his pitching and composure.
