Sagrado Corazón film opens in Mexico's Cinépolis chain
The docudrama "Sagrado Corazón: su reino no tendrá fin" will debut in Mexican cinemas on 27 August 2026, playing in 150 Cinépolis locations across the country. Directed by French filmmakers Sabrina Gunnell and Steven J. Gunnell, the 95‑minute film blends historical reenactments of the 17th‑century revelations to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque with contemporary testimonies from a young footballer, a musician, a married woman, a military officer and a patient.
Filmed in several French cities—including Paris, Avignon, Paray‑le‑Monial, Angers, Nantes and Annecy—the production seeks to offer a message of hope, peace and reconciliation, addressing modern feelings of anxiety, loneliness and spiritual emptiness. Organisers highlight the film’s aim to reach both believers and those distant from faith, presenting the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as a source of love and forgiveness.
