Sagunt Ecopark partially reopens after facility fire

The Sagunt Ecopark has partially reopened following a fire that occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The blaze caused significant damage to the facilities managed by the Sociedad Anónima de Gestión (SAG), affecting the computer systems, electrical supply, and staff areas.

While the facility is resuming operations, the recovery of the installations will be progressive. Some services will be managed manually until the IT and electrical systems are fully restored. Consequently, the center will temporarily stop accepting certain materials, including fluorescent lights, aerosols, vegetable oil, batteries, lithium batteries, and small electrical or electronic devices.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. While initial hypotheses suggested a thermal burst, other reports indicate the fire originated in the battery storage area after the facility had closed. Security camera footage is expected to help clarify the circumstances of the incident.
