Sagunt receives authorization for new 400-kilovolt electrical substation
Spain’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition has authorized the construction of the Saguntum 400-kilovolt electrical substation in Sagunt. Promoted by Red Eléctrica de España, the project aims to guarantee energy supply for new industrial plants within the Parc Sagunt development zone and improve the reliability of the transport network in the Camp de Morvedre region.
The technical project includes the creation of five new positions with a nominal power of 600 megavolt-amperes in the autotransformer bank. The company has a maximum of 24 months to complete the works and obtain an operating permit once the resolution is officially notified. The construction will take place near Muntanyeta de les Lloses and will result in the permanent loss of approximately one hectare of dense pine forest.
