Sagunt receives European gender equality distinction and sets record municipal budget

The Sagunt City Council has received the SG CITY 50-50 distinction, a European recognition for integrating a gender perspective into its public policies, internal organization, and municipal actions. This certification, part of the Digecp project co-financed by the European Union and promoted by the Association For Gender Seal, allows the municipality to join the Network of Municipalities for Gender Equality.

Joining this network provides access to specialized training, best practices, and collaborative exchange with other local governments. Mayor Darío Moreno stated that equality must influence city planning, communication, and public services, noting that the network will allow the city to subject its policies to external evaluation.

Separately, the municipal company Sociedad Anónima de Gestión (SAG) has proposed a record budget of approximately 23.5 million euros for the upcoming fiscal year, representing an 11.6% increase over current forecasts. This growth is driven by increases in staff and salaries, with personnel costs expected to exceed 16.7 million euros. The Sagunt City Council remains SAG's primary client, accounting for 94% of its projected income.
