Sahara air mass brings stable, sunny weather to Croatia

A warm and dry air mass originating from the Sahara is moving over Europe, contributing to stable and sunny weather in Croatia. A deep, slow-moving cyclone located between Iceland and Great Britain has blocked a high-pressure field over Central and Eastern Europe, facilitating the movement of this Saharan air.

In Croatia, the current weather pattern supports mostly clear skies, though significant temperature fluctuations are expected. While daytime temperatures in the interior and along the Adriatic are forecasted to reach between 22 and 27 °C, clear nights will bring much colder temperatures, with possible frost in some inland areas. The daily temperature amplitude may reach up to 20 °C, necessitating layered clothing.

On the Adriatic coast, moderate tramontana and maestral winds are expected, with strong bura winds possible in the southernmost parts of Dalmatia. The stable weather pattern is expected to persist throughout the week, with a potential shift toward precipitation and cooler temperatures around October 10.
