Saharsa RPF seizes cannabis and liquor from two trains
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted two separate operations at Saharsa railway station in Bihar, seizing cannabis and foreign liquor. The total estimated value of the confiscated contraband is approximately 7.25 lakh rupees.
The first seizure occurred on August 30 following a report via the ‘Rail Madad’ service regarding a suspicious unattended bag on the Rajya Rani Express (Train No. 15509). Upon searching coach D-04, RPF personnel recovered 14.02 kg of cannabis. The Excise Department subsequently took custody of the substance.
In a second operation, acting on intelligence regarding the Vaishali Express (Train No. 15566), RPF teams inspected an electric box located on the roof of a general coach. This search led to the recovery of 25 bottles of foreign liquor, totaling 18.75 litres.
