Sahel States Confederation discusses new honorary symbols
Burkina Faso Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo met with representatives from the Grand Chancellery of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) in Ouagadougou to discuss the harmonization of national honors and symbols.
The meeting, which included officials from Mali and Niger, aimed to establish a common legal and institutional framework for recognizing merit within the confederation. Prime Minister Ouédraogo urged the delegation to move away from colonial-era influences and instead develop systems of distinction based on the historical, sociocultural, and traditional values of the Sahelian peoples.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen integration and assert sovereignty among the three member states of the AES.
