Sahiba Gafarova meets with leaders of Uganda and Ghana

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, held high-level meetings with leaders from Uganda and Ghana during a business trip to Serbia.

In a meeting with Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation within the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement. Gafarova highlighted Azerbaijan’s successful four-year presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement and the implementation of the ‘ASAN service’ model in Uganda. Alupo expressed interest in expanding cooperation in investment, trade, agriculture, science, and technology.

Gafarova also met with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama to discuss the current state of relations and prospects for expansion. Both parties emphasized the importance of mutual support in international organizations and the need to increase parliamentary contact and legislative exchange between the two nations.
