Sahil Jadhav Uses Shane Watson's Book to Sharpen Mental Game for Asian Games
Indian archer Sahil Jadhav, a 25‑year‑old national champion, is applying lessons from former Australian cricketer Shane Watson’s self‑help book *The Winner’s Mindset* to improve his mental resilience ahead of the Asian Games in Japan (September‑October). Jadhav said the book, which offers an “easy‑to‑understand mental skills framework,” helped him manage pressure and stay focused during competitions.
After seven years of setbacks, Jadhav won his first national title in 2024, followed by a gold medal at the World University Games and a bronze in the men’s individual compound event at the Archery World Cup 2026 in Shanghai. He credits the Sports Authority of India’s National Centre of Excellence for providing the training environment that supported his rise. The book, originally intended to curb his phone scrolling, now serves as a mental‑training tool as he prepares to face global powerhouses at the Asian Games.
