Sahra Nur Akyıl achieves success in work, sports, and art

Sahra Nur Akyıl, a 30-year-old hearing-impaired professional working at the Limontepe Awareness Center under the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, is gaining recognition for her achievements in professional, athletic, and artistic fields.

Akyıl lost her hearing at age two due to a febrile illness. After overcoming early communication challenges in school, she has built a decade-long career in municipal services, where she conducts awareness activities and sign language training for center participants.

Beyond her professional role, Akyıl is an accomplished photographer and athlete. In 2015, she won first prize in a photography competition in Portugal as part of an EU Erasmus+ Project. Since 2017, she has also achieved various rankings in handball, following previous interests in basketball and football.
