Sai Pallavi discusses preparation for Sita role in high‑budget Indian epic ‘Ramayana’
Actress Sai Pallavi, who is playing the deity Sita in the much‑anticipated Indian film “Ramayana”, described her preparation as a blend of meditation, prayer and mental purity. Speaking at the trailer‑launch event in New Delhi on July 18, she said she kept her thoughts “as clean as possible” and meditated daily to embody the character.
The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by a reported ₹4,000 crore budget, will be released in two parts – the first slated for the Diwali holidays of 2026 and the second for Diwali 2027. Alongside Pallavi, the cast includes Ranveer Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey, and other stars such as Arjun Gowda, Laura Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh. Ranveer Kapoor questioned the casting of Pallavi for Sita, prompting her to defend her suitability and dedication to the role. Production involves Prime Focus Studios, VFX house DNEG and Monster Mind Creations.
