Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have shared details regarding a traumatic knife attack that occurred at their Mumbai residence on January 16, 2025. During an appearance on the television program Koffee With Karan, the couple discussed the incident, which involved an intruder identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad.

Saif Ali Khan described the night as the most terrifying of his life, noting that he acted to protect his son, Jehangir, who was present during the encounter. The attack resulted in significant bleeding and spinal cord damage that caused a partial loss of feeling in his leg, requiring surgery to remove a knife from his body. Kareena Kapoor recalled the chaos of the moment, describing how she rushed into the street in her nightwear to secure an auto-rickshaw to transport her husband to Lilavati Hospital.

The couple also addressed the emotional impact on their children. Saif recounted how his son Taimur asked if he was going to die, and how his elder son, Ibrahim, expressed intense anger and a desire to defend him. Additionally, the actors addressed online conspiracy theories that emerged following the incident, including false allegations regarding the circumstances of the attack.
