Saif Ali Khan to star in new thriller with Farhan Akhtar and team up with Akshay Kumar in Haiwaan

Saif Ali Khan is set to appear opposite Akshay Kumar in the upcoming Priyadarshan film Haiwaan, slated for release on September 11. Khan said Kumar will play a "dangerous, negative role" that he has rarely taken, and highlighted the duo’s long‑standing friendship.

Separately, reports indicate Khan will also headline an untitled thriller produced by Excel Entertainment’s Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The project, still in the writing stage, is described as an intense story exploring morality and societal issues, with production expected to begin by the end of the year. No director or co‑star has been confirmed yet.

Both projects underscore Khan’s expanding presence in Indian cinema, ranging from mainstream action to socially driven thriller material.
