Saif Ali Khan's 1991 wedding to Amrita Singh excluded sisters Soha and Saba

In 1991 actor Saif Ali Khan married actress Amrita Singh in a surprise ceremony that drew media attention because of their 12‑year age difference and the speed of the decision. The wedding was arranged at the last minute, with designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla among the few witnesses.

Saif’s younger sisters, Soha Ali Khan (13) and Saba Pataudi (15), were still in school and were not invited to the event. They later recalled learning about the marriage from a teacher and a phone call from their parents, who asked them not to discuss the news despite newspaper reports. The sisters’ absence highlighted the private nature of the ceremony, which later produced daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan before the couple separated in 2004.
