Saifullah Yusuf denies corruption funds linked to NU Muktamar

Saifullah Yusuf, the former Organizing Committee Chairman for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Muktamar, has denied allegations that funds from a corruption case within the Ministry of ATR/BPN were used to finance the organization's congress. Addressing rumors linking the event to Minister Nusron Wahid, Yusuf stated that the Muktamar, held in Jombang from August 27–31, 2026, had no connection to the ongoing legal investigation.

Yusuf urged the public to avoid forming opinions without official facts and expressed confidence in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to conduct a professional investigation. He emphasized that the PBNU respects the legal process.

In related organizational developments, the 35th Muktamar elected KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz (Gus Kikin) as the General Chairman of the PBNU for the 2026-2031 term. This follows a historical lineage of leadership within the organization dating back to its founding, including its first president, KH Hasan Gipo.
