Saifullah Yusuf outlines paths for Sekolah Rakyat graduates

Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul, has outlined strategic directions for the Sekolah Rakyat program aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty. Under presidential directives, graduates of the program will have two primary paths upon completing high school: pursuing higher education through scholarship support or entering the workforce as skilled laborers.

To ensure effective implementation, the Minister is encouraging human resources within Sekolah Rakyat to participate in the National Neighbor Care Movement (Gerakan Nasional Peduli Tetangga). By registering as Social Protection Agents (Agen Perlinsos), these individuals will help identify and register vulnerable citizens who require social assistance but are currently missing from official databases. This initiative seeks to improve data accuracy to ensure government aid reaches those in need, supporting the constitutional mandate to care for the poor and neglected children.
