Saifullah Yusuf urges Sekolah Rakyat heads to strengthen SOPs

Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf has instructed heads of Sekolah Rakyat to strengthen Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to prevent the ‘three sins of education’: bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance.

During an online meeting with school heads and center heads, Yusuf emphasized the need for administrators to deeply understand their human resources, including students, teachers, guardians, and security personnel. To ensure accountability, he recommended that school principals implement employment contracts and integrity pacts with all educational staff.

Additionally, Yusuf directed center heads to support school principals by assisting with student needs. For students from vulnerable backgrounds requiring rehabilitation, Yusuf suggested they be temporarily placed in nearby centers before continuing their studies at Sekolah Rakyat.
