Saigon Zoo welcomes three new capybara offspring

Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens has announced the birth of three new capybaras named Anh, Yêu, and Em. The offspring belong to a mother capybara named Cát, who is part of a group that arrived at the zoo in late 2024.

According to zoo staff, the births occurred around 3:10 AM on October 19. The new arrivals are noted for their distinct behaviors: Yêu tends to follow its mother closely, while Anh and Em are often seen together. Capybaras have a gestation period of approximately 150 days, and the newborns were able to move shortly after birth.
