SAIL IISCO Steel Plant announces 200 trade apprentice vacancies

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) – IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal, has announced recruitment for 200 Trade Apprentice positions across nine ITI trades. The apprenticeship program will last for one year, with selected candidates receiving a monthly stipend ranging from ₹9,600 to ₹10,560.

The vacancies are distributed among several trades, including 70 for Welder, 30 each for Electrician and Fitter, 20 for Machinist, and 10 each for Turner, Refrigeration & AC, Mechanic-Motor Vehicle, Computer & ICTSM, and Draughtsman. Selection will be merit-based, determined by ITI marks in the relevant trade, without a written examination or interview.

Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old as of September 28, 2026, and must have completed ITI in a relevant trade. Applicants must not already hold a contract ID under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 from previous training. Applications must be submitted online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal between September 28 and October 7, 2026.
