SailGP returns to Lake Geneva for international regatta

The SailGP international sailing regatta took place on Lake Geneva on September 19 and 20, 2026. As the 11th stage of a 13-stage season, teams are competing for spots in the Grand Final in Abu Dhabi. Currently, only the Australian Bonds Flying Roos have secured qualification.

In team news, the U.S. SailGP Team announced that two-time Olympic champion Martine Grael will replace pilot Taylor Canfield, who is sidelined due to a clavicle fracture sustained in a bicycle accident.

The event drew thousands of spectators to the Geneva waterfront. To manage the crowds and the high-speed F50 catamaran races, local police implemented significant traffic and parking restrictions around the Quai Gustave-Ador, Quai de Cologny, and Route de Thonon.
