Sailing championships held in Riccione and Porto Cervo

Major sailing events are taking place in Italy, including the Coppa della Palazzona at the Centro Velico Città di Riccione and the J/70 Italian Championship at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

The Coppa della Palazzona concluded its season in Riccione with favorable weather on Sunday. Following a wind cancellation on Saturday, the Sunday races featured light Bora winds. The youth team of Riccardo Duca and Diego Rosa won all three races, while Marco Pantano and Krantz Fontana secured second place.

In Porto Cervo, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is hosting the final stage of the 2026 J/70 Cup and the Italian J/70 Championship. The event features seventeen crews from seven different nations. Notable competitors include Mauro Roversi, Andrey Pushkin, and defending champion Yann Ingliesi. This event serves as a precursor to the highly anticipated 2028 World Championship scheduled for the same location.
