Sailing regattas conclude in Trieste as new Roma format is announced

The sixth edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce 2026 has concluded in Trieste. The offshore sailing race covered 1,560 nautical miles from Genoa to Trieste. The German team MW secured first place, followed by the French crew Caracole RORC, who also received the ‘Repubbliche Marinare’ award for the best overall time at the Pisa, Amalfi, and Venice gates. The English team Red Dragon finished third, while the Fati Group was the highest-ranking Italian crew in fourth place.

In related sailing news, the format of the historic Roma offshore race is changing. The inaugural Garmin Roma Sailing Week will take place from April 10 to 18, 2027, as a collaboration between Circolo Nautico Riva di Traiano and Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia. The new format will feature the Roma X Uno, Due, Tutti, a 317-nautical-mile course that is shorter than the traditional 540-mile route. This new path includes a scenic stretch along the Campanian coast, passing the Naples seafront before heading toward Capri and Riva di Traiano.
