Sailing regattas scheduled in Sardinia and Aeolian Islands

Several sailing competitions are scheduled to take place in Italy this September.

The XXII Trofeo Re di Tavolara will be held on Saturday, September 26, within the Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area. Organized by the Associazione Vela Latina Olbia and the Lega Navale Italiana – Sezione di Porto San Paolo, the event features classic lateen-rigged vessels from Northern Sardinia. This edition serves as a tribute to Angelo Dettori, the late president of the Associazione Vela Latina Olbia, whose image will be featured on the official event poster and merchandise.

Additionally, the eighth edition of the Round Aeolian Race – Trofeo Ammiraglio di Squadra Giovanni Iannucci will run from September 24 to 27. Organized by the Yacht Club Capo d’Orlando under the Italian Sailing Federation, the offshore race serves as a trial for the 2026 Italian Offshore Championship. More than thirty boats from Italy and abroad will compete in a 135-nautical-mile course through the Aeolian Islands, including Alicudi, Filicudi, Salina, Stromboli, Lipari, and Vulcano.
