Sainsbury's and Uber Eats expand Nectar rewards to grocery orders
Uber Eats customers in the United Kingdom can now earn one Nectar point for every £1 spent on Sainsbury’s groceries ordered through the Uber Eats app or website. The scheme, which covers more than 1,300 Sainsbury’s stores, requires shoppers to link their Nectar card before checkout; points are credited within 28 days of a qualifying purchase and a minimum spend of £1 applies. Certain items such as gift vouchers, tobacco, alcohol in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and other exclusions are not eligible.
The partnership builds on an existing arrangement that lets Nectar members redeem points for Uber ride or Uber Eats vouchers. Katie Hunter, Uber Eats general manager for grocery and retail in the UK, said the addition was “a no‑brainer” to give customers more flexibility and value. Sainsbury’s chief technology, marketing and data officer Mark Given added that the expansion provides another way for members to benefit from the loyalty programme across the delivery platform.
