Saint-André: Two school buses vandalized by stone-throwing
Two school buses were targeted by stone-throwing attacks on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, near the Mille Roches middle school on Albany Street in Saint-André. The incident occurred around 5:00 PM as the vehicles, which were carrying students, were preparing to leave the area.
While the attacks caused damage to the vehicles—including a broken passenger-side front window on one bus and a damaged side window near the front door on the second—no students, drivers, or other passengers were injured.
The Cirest intercommunality has filed a formal complaint and issued a statement condemning the acts, noting that such behavior endangers students, drivers, and the general public. Preliminary information suggests the perpetrator may be a young individual, though their identity and motives have not yet been determined. Investigations are ongoing to identify the person responsible.
