Saint Bartholomew and Saint Titus relics commemorated

The Serbian Orthodox Church and its believers observe the transfer of the relics of Saint Apostle Bartholomew and Saint Apostle Titus on September 7.

According to religious tradition, Saint Bartholomew was martyred in Armenia. Following his death, his remains were placed in a lead coffin, which was later cast into the sea by opponents of the faith. The coffin reached the Lipari Islands, where it was received by Bishop Agaton. The relics were eventually moved to Benevento, Italy, to protect them from iconoclastic threats.

In addition to the transfer of Bartholomew's relics, the day also commemorates Saint Titus, a disciple and collaborator of Saint Paul. Local folk traditions in certain regions often associate these religious observances with agricultural customs and weather predictions, though church teachings distinguish these specific commemorations from other feast days.
