Saint Benoît French High School fined 5.4 million TL for competition violations

The Turkish Competition Authority has imposed a total administrative fine of 5,466,201.23 TL on the Private Saint Benoît French High School in Istanbul. This decision follows a judicial ruling regarding a competition investigation involving five French high schools in the city.

The investigation originally found that these institutions coordinated the determination of registration fees, scholarship rates, and salaries for Turkish teachers, violating the Law on the Protection of Competition. Following a previous cancellation of a fine by the Ankara Regional Administrative Court, the Authority re-evaluated the case by comparing current and former penalty regulations to apply the version most favorable to the school.

The final fine is divided into two parts: 3,279,720.74 TL for coordinating registration fees and financial elements with competitors, and 2,186,480.49 TL for the coordinated determination of Turkish teacher salaries.
