Saint-Chamond: 19-year-old killed in fatal stabbing

A 19-year-old man was killed following a stabbing in the Yzieux district of Saint-Chamond, Loire, during the early hours of Monday morning. The victim sustained fatal wounds to the thorax and died at the scene.

According to Deputy Prosecutor Henry de Montaigne de Poncins, the investigation is treating the incident as a murder. Witnesses reported an altercation preceding the fatal event. Local authorities have placed a man in custody, while his son remains a suspect and is currently being sought by police.

Saint-Chamond Mayor Axel Dugua confirmed that municipal police are providing video surveillance footage from the area to judicial investigators to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
