Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover firefighters contain trailer fire

A fire involving a trailer parked near a residence on Route 122 in Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover resulted in the total destruction of the trailer on Friday afternoon. The blaze produced a large plume of smoke and threatened both a nearby house and an attached garage.

Firefighters from Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover, Drummondville, and Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil responded to the scene. Their rapid intervention prevented the flames from spreading to the main residence and garage, although the house's roof was partially attacked by the fire. No injuries were reported, and animals were evacuated during the operation.

Preliminary findings suggest the fire was accidental, with one report indicating it may have been caused by the recent connection of a refrigerator within the trailer. The Sûreté du Québec confirmed that there is no evidence of criminal intent, and the investigation remains under the responsibility of the Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover fire department.
