Saint Dorotheos feast celebrated on Tinos, Greece

The memorial of Saint Dorotheos, the early Christian martyr and Bishop of Tyre, was observed on the island of Tinos with a solemn liturgy at the Panierios Church of the Evangelistria. The celebration featured a Great Multi‑Hierarchical Evening Service attended by clergy from Tinos and neighboring metropolises, followed by an Orthros and a Multi‑Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with a proclamation by the Hierarchical Preacher.

Local dignitaries participated, including the Metropolitan of Syros‑Tinos, the Deputy Governor of Health and Social Care, the Mayor of Tinos, the Lieutenant Governor, the fire‑brigade commander, and heads of various municipal and community councils. The event concluded with a hymn of thanksgiving and a prayer of gratitude from the Archiepiscopal Commissioner of Tinos.

The feast attracted both clergy and lay faithful, highlighting the island’s religious traditions and the continued veneration of Saint Dorotheos in the Greek Orthodox calendar.
