Saint Francis inspires art exhibit in Assisi and live show in Busca

An exhibition titled “Franciscus, Fratello” opened at the Rocca Maggiore in Assisi, displaying works by Michelangelo Pistoletto that explore art, spirituality and social responsibility. The show, curated by Father Antonio Spadaro of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Culture and Education, honors Pope Francis as a model for transforming life into art and positions the exhibition within Pistoletto’s “Third Paradise” concept.

On 6 August, the town of Busca hosted a stage performance called “Francesco,” where journalist Aldo Cazzullo and musician Angelo Branduardi narrated and musically retold the life of Saint Francis of Assisi. Part of the travelling Attraverso Festival, the event took place in the former Capuchin convent and highlighted the saint’s poetic, rebellious and mystical dimensions, marking the 800‑year anniversary of his death.
