Saint-Gobain Isover workers intensify strikes in Azuqueca

Labor unions CCOO, UGT, and USO have announced an intensification of strikes at the Saint-Gobain Isover plant in Azuqueca de Henares. Following 22 days of two-hour work stoppages per shift, the unions plan to increase the duration of these strikes to three hours per shift, three days a week throughout October, and four hours per shift in November.

The industrial action is a response to management's refusal to address worker demands, specifically regarding the reduction of the working day. Unions claim that while the factory has seen excellent financial results due to a growing housing market, operational conditions have become “disastrous.” They argue that addressing current inefficiencies could facilitate reduced working hours and salary increases.
