Saint-Gobain to invest up to R$500 million in new drywall line in Feira de Santana

Saint‑Gobain Brazil announced a major expansion of its Placo Saint‑Gobain unit in Feira de Santana, Bahia. The company will invest between R$450 million and R$500 million to build the largest drywall production line in Latin America, expected to increase the plant’s capacity by about 75%.

The upgraded facility is slated to begin operations in early 2028 and is projected to create roughly 200 direct and indirect jobs. Executives highlighted growing demand for dry‑wall and other dry construction systems, noting that per‑capita consumption has doubled since 2020.

Local authorities said the project will strengthen Feira de Santana’s role as an industrial hub in the Northeast and will involve workforce training to meet the new employment opportunities.
