Saint Jude Thaddeus festivities held across various Brazilian locations

Multiple Catholic communities are hosting traditional celebrations and novenas in honor of Saint Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of impossible causes.

In Itabuna, Bahia, the São Judas Tadeu Parish is conducting festivities from October 19 to 28, 2026, under the theme “Community of communities: a new parish, the pastoral conversion of the parish.” The program includes processions, special blessings, and Eucharistic celebrations.

In Guarulhos, the Sanctuary of Saint Jude Thaddeus in Vila Harmonia is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its elevation to a sanctuary. The event features daily masses, food stalls with various cuisines, and community gatherings scheduled for late October.

In the Mosela neighborhood of Petrópolis, the parish is marking 76 years of festivities. The celebration, beginning October 28, includes religious services, processions, and musical performances ranging from German folk music to rock and samba. A notable addition to the program is the “Holywins” costume contest for students, designed as a Christian alternative to Halloween.
