Saint Kyriaki feast observed in Thessaloniki and Thebes, Greece

On July 6‑7, 2026 the Orthodox feast of Saint Kyriaki was celebrated in two Greek cities. In Thessaloniki, Metropolitan Filotheos presided over the evening Vespers on July 6, followed by a Divine Liturgy on July 7 attended by many faithful, with participation from Metropolitans of Brăila, Velestino and Damascus and sermons by Archpriest Jacob Athanasiou and Deacon Demetrios Tziapas.

In Thebes (Thiva), Metropolitan George of Thebes, Lebadeia and Avalon led the evening service at the eponymous church on July 6, delivering a homily that highlighted Saint Kyriaki’s steadfast faith. The next morning he celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the village church of Neochorakio, with the liturgy introduced by Archpriest Ieronymos Kyriatzis. Both celebrations drew large crowds of worshippers and emphasized the saint’s example for contemporary challenges.
