Saint-Louis neighborhood councils organize emergency blood drive

The neighborhood councils of Saint-Louis organized a large-scale blood donation drive on September 24, 2026, to address critical shortages in the regional blood bank. The initiative, led by national president Moustapha Diop, aims to replenish reserves during the period following the rainy season when supply tensions typically increase.

The mobilization effort involved a diverse coalition, including the Association Nationale des Livreurs ‘Tiak Tiak’, Sen’Eau, the municipality, and the Sonaged. Notably, motorcycle drivers were included in the campaign to raise awareness about road safety and public sanitation alongside the health initiative. Moustapha Diop emphasized the moral duty of citizens to contribute to this collective effort to save lives.
